Attenuator Sales Specialist Position Available

Work Area Protection Corporation, a Chicago-based manufacturer and marketer of traffic control equipment, is seeking a career-oriented individual to fill a newly created position of Attenuator Sales Specialist for the SCI Smart Cushion® crash attenuator product line.

The Attenuator Sales Specialist position will be responsible for sales, marketing, product development and field service. This position will support the territory sales managers and distributors along with an active participation of new business development. The position reports to the Senior Product Manager, Crash Attenuation. Also, the successful candidate will become involved in training state DOTs, distributors, installers, and maintenance companies.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field; or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in the traffic control industry, or equivalent experience
  • Strong computer skills relating to communication, spread sheets, engineering, research, and document creation.
  • Successful product support experience in dealing with customers
  • Experience working with state and local government agencies, contractors, and engineering companies.
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Experience in developing, initiating, and delivering training programs
  • An aptitude for problem solving
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent people and interpersonal skills
  • This position will require 50%+ overnight travel.

Mid Atlantic Territory Manager Position Available

Work Area Protection Corp., a division of Stabler Companies Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of traffic control equipment, is currently looking for a Territory Sales Manager for its Mid Atlantic Territory.

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for all of the sales and service activities for the Work Area Protection, Precision Solar Controls, and SCI brands of products. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: working with distributors to build and maintain an effective distributor network; develop strong distributor relationships through planning, training and motivation, along with joint sales calls; develop an annual customer calling program to provide full knowledge of all customers, markets, product requirements, and competitive positions in the territory; work directly with state DOTs and other government agencies to assist with specifications; and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to assist management in planning.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Three years, or more, of sales experience in the traffic safety industry
  • An aptitude to provide leadership and direction to distributors
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • This position will require 75% + overnight travel
